GAWD! I'm failing.

Wed Sep 23, 2009, 6:19 AM
LOL.
So, that's two exams I failed so far: Chemistry and Calculus.
Not good at all.

What's more, I have another exam on Sept 25, 2009.

Looks like I'll be busy this week.

On another note, one of my good friends (who doesn't have a dA, but I'll refer to him as stoic, as he wishes to remain anonymous) has decided to help me learn a few things on photoshop.
I am, somewhat photoshop retarded. I know how layering works, and the transparency process. I know how to paint shit too, it's just I don't know a few complicated things.

Mainly rendering, and creating mirrors of images. Also, some special effects stuff for creating wallpapers would be pretty cool. All in all, it's gonna be more like a digital editting/gfx design lesson. :D Not a lesson, but I'll refer to it as that.

College life is shit. :D But, hey! It's all about getting up after making a mistake, and getting back in the ring to try again.

I heard you were having inspiration trouble.
Hope it doesn't last.
If you get stuck, you could always try pulling things out of abstract shapes, like shadows or scribble.
The same principle as finding animals in clouds, but on paper.
=)

Hey! Yeah, I had a pretty chill test load this year. I only have French next week so I'm pretty happy for all this to be over. How bout you?
:iconrapidsketch:
I have Chem and Spanish next week. I'm supposed to take about 30 hours of testing, but really, the time flies by real quick.
So far, they've been pretty easy, except for Paper 1 Math Methods. That was brutal.
Can't wait till I'm done.

hey there, I saw your comment on someone's page asking about PS layers. I'm no pro, but I know some about PS.
you can do two things:
paint underneath the lines by creating a new layer and placing it under your line' layer. this new layer(s) will be your 'colouring' layer(s).
OR if your paper doesn't have lines on a separate layer, some people make a new layer, place it above the sketch/lines and paint, but setting the blending option to multiply. however, if your paper has some colour other than white, the new colour layer will make it show through. you should adjust the threshold/contrast so that your lines are black and the background is white. OR just make a new layer entirely and draw the lines so you have separate clean lines

also, me tell you that people who use the pen tool to make their line art usually have cleaner lines than those with a tablet (some people have hand stability isuues line myself).

I hope this helped :)

Thank you very much. Fenrir posted up a little tutorial, but I'll use your tips as well as they are very helpful. Thank you.
